Review: Different Appearances

Different Appearances Different Appearances by Rebecca Pettiford
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I liked that this book focused on and celebrated the differences between people. It makes it clear that differences can be a good thing and not something to shy away from. There are tips for adults to use when sharing this book. I really enjoyed the page that shows several pictures of kids Brady Brunch style, and then the text prompts the reader to notice the differences among the group of friends.

Review: Zora's Zucchini

Zora's Zucchini Zora's Zucchini by Katherine Pryor
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This would be a great book to share with young gardeners. I liked how the family learned different ways to eat zucchini and how Zora figured out ways to deal with all of the extra zucchini!

Review: Out to Get You: 13 Tales of Weirdness and Woe

Out to Get You: 13 Tales of Weirdness and Woe Out to Get You: 13 Tales of Weirdness and Woe by Josh Allen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

So much weirdness packed into every story! Hand this to fans of "Scary Stories to Tell in Dark" that are looking for more creepy tales. I love that some of the stories have tiny little elements that stick with you after you turn the page.... watch out for that knot in the wood that slightly resembles an eye or the pins and needles you feel when you think your foot has just fallen asleep.

Review: The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise

The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise by Dan Gemeinhart
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this gem of a book. Coyote is as honest as they come. She will make you laugh, and then a few pages later your heart will be right in the thick of her pain as she deals with her grief. I listened to this book, and the narrator was fantastic! This is a story about friendship, family, and getting through the tough times. I will be sharing this book with lots of readers!!!
